On February 19th 2019, Trinomics organized a well-attended workshop at the European Parliament on the wider implications of the energy transition. Six speakers were invited to give nuanced perspectives on the subject matter, with ITRE Chair Jerzy Buzek providing opening and closing remarks.
The workshop’s presentations focused on: (i) the energy transition and opportunities for EU industries; (ii) the role of hydrogen as a decarbonization catalyst through its beneficial impact on energy flexibility, availability, and security; and, (Iii) the case of the energy transition in phasing out coal from the power sector in Germany.
The event’s agenda, names and biographies of presenters, as well as the full slide decks of the specific presentations can be accessed here.
The workshop was commissioned and facilitated by Policy Department A of the European Parliament, at the request of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE).
