Study on consumers’ and installers’ understanding of the energy label for space and water heaters
This project tested the understanding and usage of the new EU Energy Label for boilers and space heaters. The study carried out large-scale survey and testing of consumers, and also interviews and survey of installers and suppliers of boilers and space heaters. The latter being particularly important and relevant for these products as they are typically a trusted intermediary in the purchase decision for new heating equipment. The work highlighted strengths and weaknesses in understanding and usage of the label to inform the final design. Trinomics provided technical support to the work, particularly in review of survey and interview design and review of results and conclusions. The work was led by LE Europe, with Ipsos and Centerdata.
