Trinomics, in collaboration with lead partner ADE and with CLIMACT, is proud to share the publication on the evaluation of Belgian international climate finance.
The report is the result of a year-long study across Belgium and two of its partner countries for development cooperation: Senegal and Tanzania. It explains how Belgium is tackling the global climate challenge in vulnerable countries and provides recommendations for the Belgian federal government to improve the quality of its commitments.
We found that the Belgian approach to climate finance relies on recognised expertise of Belgian climate & development actors, on diverse instruments and partners, and that it is clearly geared towards adaptation finance in the most vulnerable countries.
The timing of the conclusions and recommendations is crucial in light of the negotiations currently going on at COP26, in which international climate finance is a key topic.
