The LIFE Programme, the only funding programme exclusively dedicated to environment and climate action, is ending in 2020. The Commission has proposed a new (LIFE) financial programme for the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework. In light of the results of the Impact Assessment accompanying Commission’s proposal for the new Programme, DG Environment wished to reinforce the action of the National Contact Points (NCPs), by supporting the strengthening of the NCP network, with the view to achieving a more geographically balanced participation in the programme.
Trinomics in collaboration with Ricardo (lead) supported the Commission in defining the structure of this network, its activities and its budget with the aim of improving the participation of Member States (MS) in the LIFE Programme. In doing so, our team interviewed NCPs from all EU MS, reviewed other relevant EU initiatives with NCP network structures, and proposed three different options for a strengthened NCP network. Although this study will not be publicly available, more details on this project can be found here.
