The project delivered to the European Environmental Agency a structured overview of (1) the moments in the product’s life-cycle when consumers take decisions that affect how circular their consumption will be; (2) the means to influence the consumer towards a more circular behaviour at each of these key decision points in the product’s life cycle, by acting on economic incentives, the existing offering of goods and services, information, social factors and on beliefs; (3) a range of public policies acting on these levers, based on the national experience of the EEA’s Member States and on the consultants’ input.
These findings were applied to two emblematic sectors for mass-market consumer goods: garments and consumer electronics.
