This study supports the impact assessment (especially quantitatively) of options improving market conditions for biomethane and gas market rules. For this, it provides the quantitative inputs necessary to model in METIS and/or PRIMES the policy options; complements this with non-model-based assessments where METIS/PRIMES are not adequate tools; and defines the methodology for assessing the impact of the options on the energy system, based on modelling outputs.
