‘Inclusive green growth’ is a term that is now frequently used in development projects in order to state that such projects should foster and promote a balance between social, economic and environmental development. The Dutch Government is presently experimenting with partnerships between private organisations, NGO’s and public organisations to stimulate inclusive green growth. Trinomics together with its partner AidEnvironment examined in this project nine of such partnerships, stimulating inclusive green growth in the fields of water, food security and energy in a variety of countries in South America, Africa and Asia. The ex-ante evaluation of these projects, that have started in the past years, concluded that often a cooperation between public and private parties can contribute to achieving lasting systemic improvements beyond the direct project context. Furthermore, the evaluation identified several success factors and potential risks.
