Jeanet Benschop is a Consultant at Trinomics.

Since joining Trinomics in 2021, Jeanet has been involved in several projects ranging from sustainable finance to economic climate policy topics. In particular, she has worked on projects concerning the sustainable finance regulatory framework within the European Union, gaining deeper understanding of the EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD, and related regulations. In addition, she is keen to develop the most effective regional and national sustainable finance and international climate finance strategies and policies possible, engaging with all relevant stakeholders throughout the process. She is certain a multidimensional and deep analytical approach are necessary requirements for this.

Jeanet holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Utrecht University, with a specialization in economic policy development in the EU. She wrote her Master’s thesis on the development of the EU taxonomy regulation, and the involvement of financial and fossil fuel business association lobbying throughout this process. Also interest in sustainable economic development, Jeanet did an internship at a Dutch governmental agency, the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) where she was, amongst others, involved in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) evaluation of projects. Because of her continuous interest in the topic, Jeanet is still involved in a political party committee on foreign trade and development.

She is a native Dutch speaker, is fluent in English, proficient in German at an intermediate level and has basic (reading) knowledge of French.

“My aim is to develop ambitious and realistic sustainable strategies and policies with all relevant stakeholders involved.”
