Financing the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy is one of the core challenges in the decades ahead of us. Trinomics has been part of this discussion from the beginning. Linking the financial needs for the low-carbon transition with the dynamics of the financial world and translating that into the most suitable policy designs is a challenge (as profitability is not always imminent) where we can make a difference.
We have recently worked for several governments to develop a methodology to account for leveraged private climate finance. We have designed new polices to increase the mobilisation of private climate finance and have analysed the potential for cities to attract private finance for adaptation and mitigation investments. Moreover, we are delivering capacity building activities for climate finance readiness as well support governments in developing countries to mainstream and enhance their climate funding.
